Veeam Console

  1. Within the Veeam Console, on the left menu bar Click Protected Data
  2. At the Top, Click EC2
  3. Select ec2-instance-1
  4. Select Restore
  5. Select File-level Recovery Veeam EC2 File Restore
EC2 File-level Recovery » Instances
  1. Select the only instance in the list ec2-instance-1
  2. Click Restore Point
  3. Select Type Snapshot
  4. Click Apply
  5. Click Next Veeam EC2 Restore List

  1. Toggle ON Additional Restore Mode Veeam Restore Mode Sometimes the AWS CloudFormation Script doesn’t attached the IAM Role during deployment. No worries, we can easily fix it. Veeam Instance Permission Issues

Permissions issue fix

  1. Within your AWS Console, Click Search
  2. Type EC2
  3. Click on EC2 within the Search Box Veeam EC2 Search
  4. In the center under Resources, Click Instances (Running)
  5. Select ec2-instance-1
  6. Click Actions, Click Security, Click Modify IAM Role
  7. Search & Select Veeam-restore-ec2-instance-profile Veeam Instance Permission Role
  8. Click Update IAM Role
  9. Reboot the instance because sometimes SSM agent doesn’t register or restart on a restore.
  10. Select ec2-instance-1
  11. Click Instance State
  12. Select Reboot Instance
  13. Click Reboot Veeam EC2 Reboot
  14. Return back to the Veeam Console and Continue with the restore and continue

    Tip

    Wait a few minutes for the reboot and in some cases you might need to restart the FLR process
